Question on Profiling
Part One (1)

These questions are on Handwriting Analysis based on American Trait Theory. It is one of the four diagnostic tools I use in Profiling a personality.

I was asked by a client "Tony is there anything shown in a sample of handwriting that tells me right away what I am dealing with?" Yes, there are a few visual cues that I will explain that will give you some information on the personalities makeup that can be helpful without knowing handwriting analysis and all the traits and psychology behind those traits.

It is very important to understand this is only the frame of mind of the personality at the time the document was penned. If you have many samples written over an extended period of time the analysis will be more accurate. The reason for this statement is handwriting is brain writing. There are internal and external factors that will influence a persons handwriting.

If you receive a sample of handwriting, a card, check, letter etc. If the person writes a statement and also signs their name below the document look to see if the body of the document and the signature are in the same slant pattern. If both are than what you see with this person is what you getting.

If the body of the document is not in the same slant pattern as the signature than what you see is not what you are getting. The body of the document is what the personality is really all about, how they think, feel and express emotion. The signature is what the personality is projecting socially. It is important to remember that what a person projects and what they truly are can be two entirely different matters.

For example, if the body of the document is written straight up and down in a twelve o'clock slant pattern and the signature is written with a slant pattern to the left or the right than what the person is projecting socially and what they are in reality are two different matters. In a sense the personality is being somewhat deceptive about who and what they really are. This statement does not mean the personality is a liar, cheat, sneak or thief. There could be many underlying reasons for this, insecurity, low self esteem, fear of getting close, wanting to be loved and respected, fear of losing face, the reasons are endless.

Many times I have a client who calls me and states "Tony I met this guy or girl and they were so outgoing, friendly, easy to talk to, than he/she changed when I started to get close to him/her what's up with that?"

The signature had a right slant pattern, showing an extroverted personality type. The body of the document was written straight up and down an Ambivert personality type. Two different personality types when it comes to emotion. I have seen this most often in the handwriting of salesmen and players.

I will continue tomorrow with Part Two (2) of questions.
