Paranoid Personalities
Wound Collectors
Words have meaning. I wrote this article a few years back. The non-stop name calling. Calling people racists or Hitler, Nazis, Fascist, what ever term you can come up with and spread by the media everyday will have consequences. Last night another assassination attempt on President Trump was stopped by the Secret Service. One agent was shot and will recover from his wounds. What I have noticed over the years by both the politicians and the media is nothing more than insane rhetoric to become the center of attention and get clicks on their social media pages. Most of what comes out of your mouths is not based in reality.
You are triggering the emotions of very unstable personality types. Rather than look at this situation and state we must tone down the hateful rhetoric in this country, no you double down and state President Trump ORCHESTRATED this assassination attempt so he would go up in the polls or to build his ballroom. I can't believe what I am hearing. This man who is now under arrest was willing to get killed by the Secret Service or spend the rest of his life in prison for a ballroom, or to help a man he hates. I am sorry some of you people need serious medical attention. Your words and actions are trigging the "Paranoid Personality Type."
The Paranoid Personality Types are going to come out of the wood work on both sides. This will not be the last of the many attempted shootings we have witnessed over the last few years. The lone wolf will cause a lot of death and bloodshed. If not caught before hand. The Lone Wolf is very hard to detect.
Words matter, most people in this country listen to your nonsense and let it fly over their head and are rational enough not to pay much attention to your insane nonsense and take matters into their own hands.
You in the media and the politicians who keep yelling and screaming at everyone who disagrees with your point of view, has triggered the "Paranoid Personality/Wound Collector Types." Did you ever think of that?
These are very dangerous unstable personalities who will take matters into their own hands when they feel threatened, "real or imagined."
The politicians and the media must stop with their insane rhetoric on both sides that all whites are evil, racists, they are coming after you. Stop with the name calling, people are getting sick and tired of being labeled something they are not. The vast majority of the people in the United States are kind, loving people who do not have a racist bone in their body. They only want to live and work together. Take care of their families and children. Your words and actions is lighting a fuse to a stick of dynamite called the "Paranoid Personality Type."
These personalities are "Wound Collectors."
What is the definition of a wound collector or wound collecting?
*The term wound collector and wound collecting was Copyrighted by Joe Navarro in 2004
Wound collecting is the conscious and systematic collection and preservation of transgressions, violations, social wrongs, grievances, injustice, unfair treatment, or slights of self and others, for the purpose of nourishing, fortifying, or justifying a malignant ideology, furthering hatred, satisfying a pathology, or for exacting revenge. (J. Navarro, M.A.)
As with every personality type, the Paranoid Personalities behavior is also on a bell curve. This bell curve runs from mild to extreme. At the mild end of the spectrum they will express their insecurity, jealousy and paranoid behavior patterns in the form of being non-trusting of others, isolating themselves and their family from outside influences, people, friends and other family members.
These personalities look at every act of kindness from others as always having a hidden agenda or motive. There always must be ulterior motives. Altruists, to these personality types are opportunists with a hidden agenda. In their mind nobody does nothing for nothing. They trust no one, even their own family members are under constant scrutiny. They look for any act of disloyalty real or imagined as proof positive that validates their paranoid beliefs.
The world is a very dangerous place, everyone is out to hurt them, take advantage of them. They are very insecure and jealous. At this mild end they will talk behind your back, make insane accusations about your character when you do not fall in lock step with their thoughts and beliefs. Their paranoid imagination becomes their reality. With these personality types they will "twist the facts" to fit their irrational thoughts and beliefs.
The DSM-5 describes the paranoid personality disorder as a pattern of pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others such that their motives are interpreted as malevolent. These are the listed behavior patterns for this personality type.
(1) suspects, without sufficient basis, that others are exploiting, harming, or deceiving him or her
(2) is preoccupied with unjustified doubts about the loyalty or trustworthiness of friends or associates
(3) is reluctant to confide in others because of unwarranted fear that the information will be used maliciously against him or her
(4) reads hidden demeaning or threatening meanings into benign remarks or events
(5) persistently bears grudges, i.e., is unforgiving of insults, injuries, or slights
(6) perceives attacks on his or her character or reputation that are not apparent to others and is quick to react angrily or to counterattack
(7) has recurrent suspicions, without justification, regarding fidelity of spouse or sexual partner.
The DSM-5 lists paranoid personality disorder essentially unchanged from the DSM-IV version and lists associated features that describe it in a more quotidian way. These features include suspiciousness, intimacy avoidance, hostility and unusual beliefs/experiences.
When these personalities are on the extreme end of the spectrum we have people like; Ted Kaczynski the Unabomber, Timothy McVeigh who blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold who killed their classmates at Columbine High School, Osama bin Laden who was the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, Anders Behring Breivik who killed 77 people in Norway, mostly all children, Adolf Hitler who killed over six million Jews. This is just a partial list of the more violent paranoid personality types. Even Howard Hughes who was a millionaire isolated himself the last ten years of his life in a Las Vegas hotel. Even Ex President Nixon had paranoid tendencies he had a so called political hit list of all his enemies. He stated many times he could trust no one.
For many of the Paranoid Personalities Types who are on the extreme end of the spectrum violence becomes their only solution when they are triggered, "real or imagined."
